Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce a newly re-mastered edition of the classic self-titled second album by Dutch Progressive Rock group KAYAK.
KAYAK were formed in Hilversum in Holland in 1972 by keyboard player TON SCHERPENZEEL and drummer PIM KOOPMAN. The band signed to the Dutch division of EMI’s HARVEST label the same year. Their self-titled second album was released in 1974 throughout Europe and featured a line-up on SCHERPENZEEL and KOOPMAN along with MAX WERNER on Vocals and Mellotron, CEES Van LEEUWEN on Bass and JOHAN SLAGER on Guitars.
This Esoteric Recordings reissue has been newly re-mastered from the original master tapes, features two bonus tracks taken from the band’s 1974 UK single, and a booklet that fully restores all original album artwork with a new essay.

Banco

Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso, better known in English speaking countries as Banco, were one of the finest Italian Progressive rock band s of the 1970 s and along with compatriot s P.F.M. were one of the better known Italian groups.

A successful act in their homeland, they came to international attention when they signed to Emerson, Lake and Palmer’s label Manticore in 1975. Their first album for the label, Banco was a fine work and featured reworked material with English vocals that had originally featured on their earlier Italian albums.

This new edition of the album has been newly re-mastered and marks the albums British debut on CD and continues the comprehensive series of releases of the classic Manticore catalogue.

We Are Everything You See
Esoteric Recordings are proud to release the classic album WE ARE Everythingyou See by Locomotive. Issued by Parlophone in January 1970, it was the only album by the Birmingham based group fronted by keyboard player Norman Haines and was recorded in 1969.

Featuring the psychedelic classic Mr. Armageddon , the album was a marvellous fusion of jazz, psychedelia and early progressive music and was produced by Gus Dudgeon and graced by guest musicians Dick Heckstall Smith, Henry Lowther and Chris Mercer.

Released on 31/08/09 Alquin were one of the most innovative bands to burst forth on the Dutch Progressive Rock scene of the early 1970's. Adopting a Jazz influenced Progressive rock approach and attaining a sound unique from their contemporaries, the band soon found an appreciative audience throughout Europe with their debut album 'Marks', with British DJ Bob Harris declaring himself an admirer. Originally released on the Polydor label in 1972, this Esoteric Recordings release features the entire album on CD for the first time (as 'Mr. Barnum Jnr's Magnificent and Fabulous City' was omitted from a previous CD issue). Recorded for Virgin Records in 1974, Hatfield and the North was the eponymous debut album by the band comprising former Caravan member Richard Sinclair, keyboard player Dave Stewart, guitarist Phil Miller and drummer Pip Pyle. Regarded as one of the finest albums in the Canterbury genre, the album also featured guest appearances by Geoff Leigh of Henry Cow and Robert Wyatt who sang guest vocals on the track Calyx. This Esoteric Recordings reissue adds both sides of the band's 1974 and Your Majesty is Like a Cream Donut / Oh What a Lonely Lifetime featured on the Virgin sampler album V and previously unreleased on CD as bonus tracks, together with a booklet featuring restored artwork and notes by Sid Smith.
