Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce a newly re-mastered edition of the classic 1972 debut album by WEST, BRUCE & LAING; "WHY DONTCHA”.
The album was the first studio offering by the trio and was a fine blend of hard rock (as defined by LESLIE WEST) and the unique compositional style of JACK BRUCE, finely complimented by the percussive powerhouse CORKY LAING.
"WHY DONTCHA” featured such fine compositions as the outstanding ‘Out into the Fields’, ‘The Doctor’ and ‘Why Dontcha’.
This Esoteric Recordings reissue has been newly re-mastered from the original master tapes and features a booklet that fully restores all original album artwork with a new essay.

Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce a new official Re-mastered release of the classic 1975 self- titled debut album by Gilgamesh.These Canterbury stylists were formed in 1972 with the core of the band built around Alan Gowen on keyboards and Mike Travis on drums. At various times the line-up included former caravan and hatfield & the north member Richard Sinclair, Mont Campbell (formerly of Egg) and Neil MurrayThe group’s debut album was recorded for Virgin’s Caroline label in 1975 and featured a line-up of Alan Gowen (keyboards), Phil Lee (guitar), Jeff Clyne (bass) and Mike Travis (drums). Stationary Traveller
Released on 28/09/09 . Unlike many bands whose careers had begun in the 1970 s, CAMEL continued to enjoy much success in the 1980 s, producing fine studio albums such as Stationary Traveller . Although destined to be Camel'sfinal studio album for Decca Records, it was a fine effort. Inspired by the Cold War (then at its height) between the Eastern Bloc countries and NATO, the album featured such classics as Cloak and Dagger Man , West Berlin , Stationary Traveller and Long Goodbyes and saw CAMEL reach new heights of creativity. Another Fine Tune You’ve Got Me Into – Re-Mastered Edition
Released 25/05/09. Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the first official release of a re-mastered edition of the classic 1978 album by Gilgamesh. These Canterbury stylists were formed in 1972 with the core of the band built around Alan Gowen on keyboards and Mike Travis on drums. At various times the line-up included former Caravan and Hatfield & the North member Richard Sinclair, Mont Campbell (formerly of EGG) and Neil Murray. After recording a debut album for Virgin's Caroline label, the band recorded this wonderful album in 1978 for Charly Records. For this, the final Gilgamesh album, Alan Gowen was joined by guitarist Phil Lee, former Soft Machine bass player Hugh Hopper and drummer Trevor Tomkins. 'Another Fine Tune You've Got Me Into' is a classic of the 'Canterbury' style and is sure to be a much sought after release by all aficionados of the genre. Our Price: £10.95

The World’s Smallest Big Band
Keyboard player and vocalist Eddie Hardin and drummer Pete York had first played together in the second incarnation of the Spencer Davis Group, following Steve Winwood's departure to form Traffic. In 1969 Hardin & York struck out on their own to form a highly unique duo utilising powerful Hammond Organ work and percussion to record a series of wonderful albums in the Progressive / Jazz Rock vein. 'The World's Smallest Big Band' was their second album and featured recordings made at Olympic Studios and material recorded live at De Lane Lea studios in front of a small audience. A popular attraction in Europe, the record remains a noted highlight of their career. This Esoteric Recordings reissue includes eight bonus tracks!

The Alchemist
Released on 29/03/10. Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of the classic 1973 Progressive rock album The Alchemist by Home. The band featured a line up of Mick Stubbs (guitar, piano, lead vocals), Laurie Wisefield (lead guitar, vocals), Cliff Williams (bass, vocals) and Mick Cook (drums) and had recorded two previous albums in a more conventional style before recording an album cited by many as a lost classic of the Progressive genre. Although critically acclaimed, the album failed to sell in quantities it deserved and Home disbanded the following year. With the addition of guest Jimmy Anderson on Mellotron and Synthesiser, the conceptual work also brought the guitar playing of Laurie Wisefield to the fore, eventually leading to his joining WISHBONEASH soon after the demise of Home Our Price: £10.95
