Living In Fear
Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a newly remastered edition of the second album by TEMPEST, the group formed in 1972 by Colosseum drummer JON HISEMAN. Upon the demise of Hiseman's previous group he formed the muscular outfit Tempest with Colosseum bassist MARK CLARKE, guitarist ALLAN HOLDSWORTH and Vocalist and Keyboard player PAUL WILLIAMS.The band's debut album, originally released by Bronze Records in 1973, was a fine work and featured exemplary musicianship from the quartet. By the time of the recording of Tempest's second album both Holdsworth and Williams had departed. In their place came talented guitarist and keyboard player OLLIE HALSALL. Another excellent work, this Esoteric Recordings edition of Living in Fear has been newly re-mastered and restores the albums original elaborate artwork and features two bonus tracks recorded in 1974.

Vulcan
Released 27/10/08. Esoteric Recordings are proud to announce the release of the album 'Vulcan' by the late Chris Wood, founder member of the legendary TRAFFIC and flautist and saxophonist extraordinaire. Recorded just after the demise of Traffic in 1974, 'Vulcan' was begun for Island records but shelved in 1978. The sessions featured contributions from members of The Wailers, along with a live recording of Traffic performing the title track ("Moonchild Vulcan") in 1974, but due to a change in musical fashion with the advent of Punk, the album failed to see the light of day. Island boss Chris Blackwell returned the tapes to Chris Wood in the late 1970's. Following Chris' untimely death in 1983 the tapes were passed on to his sister, Stephanie. Now, 25 years later, and after three years of research and preparation, Esoteric have pieced together the sessions in co-operation with Stephanie Wood to bring you 'Vulcan'. Our Price: £10.95

Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the first ever UK release of the classic 1977 self- titled debut album by American Progressive Rock group HAPPY THE MAN.
Formed in Harrisonburg, Virginia in 1973, the band was influenced by British progressive groups such as Genesis and King Crimson. With a line-up of STANLEY WHITAKER (Guitars, Vocals), KIT WATKINS (Keyboards), FRANK WYATT (Sax, Flute, Keyboards), RICK KENNELL (Bass) and MIKE BECK (Drums), the band recorded their first album under the production supervision of KEN SCOTT (who had worked with Supertramp and David Bowie).
