Round the Back by Cafe Jacques. Formed in 1973 by guitarist Chris Thomson and keyboard player Peter Veitch, they signed to CBS Records in 1976

With drummer Mike Ogletree they recorded this debut album the following year with producer Rupert Hine. The sessions featured guest appearances by Phil Collins and Caravan alumni Geoffrey Richardson and John G. Perry.

Fusing influences as diverse as Caravan, Steely Dan and Genesis, the band's debut album was an impressive work. Never issued on CD in the UK before now, this release coincides with the first Cafe Jacques concerts in many years at the end of August.

Arc… At This
Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the debut CD release of 'Arc at This' by ARC. The sole album by this band is a much sought after collectors item originally released on the Decca label in 1970. ARC came out of the ashes of SKIP Bifferty, one of Britain's great unsung psychedelic rock groups. When former Skip Bifferty vocalist Graham Bell joined former NICE drummer Brian Davison's Every Which Way, the remaining members (Tom Duffy, Mick Gallagher, John Turnball and David Montgomery) formed this progressive rock outfit. Reuniting with Graham Bell the following year the group became Bell + Arc, recording an acclaimed album for Charisma Records. This release will be warmly greeted by collectors of early 1970's progressive music. Our Price: £10.95

Bill Fay
As a songwriter, the music written and recorded by Bill Fay has taken many years to reach the audience it deserved, thanks mainly to the American group Wilco covering Fay's 'Be Not So Fearful', a song featured on Fay's first album. Now highly regarded, Fay's debut album is now released by Esoteric Recordings. This reissue also adds Fay's first recorded offerings, the single 'Screams in the Ears' b/w 'Some Good Advice', appeared in 1967, produced by Peter Edenand featuring Southend band The Fingers, as backing band. 'Bill Fay', first released on the Nova label, was a work both sumptuous and delicately melancholic. Featuring string arrangements by jazz musician Mike Gibbs, sessions would also feature guitarist Ray Russell. Cited by Uncut magazine as 'The Missing Link Between Nick Drake, Ray Davies and Bob Dylan', Bill Fay's work now has the patronage of a younger generation of musicians to bring Fay the critical accolades he deserved. Fay's supremely creative muse has deservedly come full circle. Our Price: £10.95
