Brainbox
Formed in the winter of1968, Brainbox was a legendary dutch rock group that featured star guitarist Jan Akkerman and vocalist Kaz Lux within their ranks he band’s debut album featured such incredible work as Dark Rose,Summertime, Scarborough Fair and the epic 16 minute Track Sea Of Delight.Inspired by British acts of the day, Brainbox were equal to the talent of groups such as Taste and Jethro Tull and their debut album secured a world wide release by EMI records in 1969.Soon after the album appeared Jan Akkerman departed to join Focus, but Brianbox continued to record a host of classic singles and a second LP with drummer Pierre Van Der Linden also joining Focus.This Esoteric recordings re-mastered edition is the first ever UK CD release of the album and features eleven bonus tracks taken from the band single releases of 1969 and 1970: quite simply Brainbox is a Dutch classic. Marks
Released on 31/08/09 Alquin were one of the most innovative bands to burst forth on the Dutch Progressive Rock scene of the early 1970's. Adopting a Jazz influenced Progressive rock approach and attaining a sound unique from their contemporaries, the band soon found an appreciative audience throughout Europe with their debut album 'Marks', with British DJ Bob Harris declaring himself an admirer. Originally released on the Polydor label in 1972, this Esoteric Recordings release features the entire album on CD for the first time (as 'Mr. Barnum Jnr's Magnificent and Fabulous City' was omitted from a previous CD issue). Galactic Zoo Dossier
Released on 22/02/10 Esoteric Recordings are proud to announce the release of a newly re-mastered and expanded of Galactic Zoo Dossier , the first album by Arthur Brown's Psych / Space Rock outfit Kingdom Come. Issued on Polydor in 1971, the album launched the band, gaining instant notoriety. Touching on the musical territory of fellow travellers Hawkwind, Galactic Zoo Dossier was a masterwork and is now rightly regarded as a classic. This newly remastered edition includes bonus tracks of three alternate versions of Metal Monster , Space Plucks and Sunrise , together with both tracks from a BBC Radio One John Peel session from March 1971 (previously unreleased on CD). The World’s Smallest Big Band
Keyboard player and vocalist Eddie Hardin and drummer Pete York had first played together in the second incarnation of the Spencer Davis Group, following Steve Winwood's departure to form Traffic. In 1969 Hardin & York struck out on their own to form a highly unique duo utilising powerful Hammond Organ work and percussion to record a series of wonderful albums in the Progressive / Jazz Rock vein. 'The World's Smallest Big Band' was their second album and featured recordings made at Olympic Studios and material recorded live at De Lane Lea studios in front of a small audience. A popular attraction in Europe, the record remains a noted highlight of their career. This Esoteric Recordings reissue includes eight bonus tracks!
