Released 27/04/09. Recorded over two tours in 1976 and 1977, 'Live Tapes' was released as Barclay James Harvest were on the ascendant. Following on the heels of their Platinum selling album 'Gone to Earth', a huge hit in Germany and a top thirty album in the UK, 'Live Tapes' offered versions of songs from the album such as ‘Poor Man's Moody Blues' and ‘Hymn' alongside live selections from albums such as 'Time Honoured Ghosts' and 'Octoberon'. This collection also adds three bonus tracks not released on the original double album, ‘Medicine Man', ‘The World Goes On' and ‘Hymn for the Children', Released to coincide with a series of British concerts by John Lees' Barclay James Harvest, this album makes a much welcomed appearance on CD once more and joins the release of an expanded 'Barclay James Harvest Live' on Esoteric Recordings this month.

Juicy Lucy

Esoteric Recordings are pleased to release a newly re-mastered edition of the classic 1969 debut album by Juicy Lucy. Formed out of the ashes of the legendary group The Misunderstood, the band featured Ray Owen (vocals), Glen Campbell (steel guitar), Chis Mercer (saxophone), Neil Hubbard (guitar), Keith Ellis (bass) and Pete Dobson (drums).

One of the first signings to Vertigo Records, Juicy Lucy’s debut was a fine work and spawned their classic interpretation of Bo Diddley’s Who Do You Love? A top ten UK hit.

A Concert For The People (Berlin) 30th Anniversary Edition

On August 30th 1980, Barclay James Harvest performed the most legendary concert of their career on the steps of the Reichstag in West Berlin. This free concert took place in front of an audience of 250,000 people next to the Berlin Wall, which divided the city at that time. The event was filmed and recorded, spawning the band’s most successful album in the UK and a film and video release, which was also screened on television. In Germany, the album was released with two extra tracks in a limited edition package.

This 30th Anniversary edition of A Concert for the People (Berlin) features the two bonus tracks of the original German release.

The first 2000 copies will be released as a Limited Edition Digi Pack. This Esoteric Recordings reissue has been re-mastered from the original tapes and fully restores the original album artwork and coincides with the DVD release of the concert film.

Mercator Projected
A milestone in the birth of 'progressive' rock, East of Eden's debut album, 'Mercator Projected' has been cited by Mojo magazine as a minor masterpiece. Released on the legendary Deram label in 1969, the album established East of Eden as a major act, particularly in France, where the band had several Top Ten singles and major album success. An imaginative fusion of jazz, psychedelia and world music, 'Mercator Projected' has been re-mastered from the original master tapes and features twenty minutes of bonus material, including previously unreleased extended demo versions of ‘Waterways' and ‘In The Stable of the Sphynx' and East of Eden's take on The Byrds' classic ‘Eight Miles High'.
