These giants of Brazilian guitar music born just five years apart both enjoyed career trajectories that took them from humble origins to global renown, from folk music to jazz, and from classical to bossa nova. For all their similarities, Luiz Bonfà and Laurindo Almeida expressed their genius in very distinct ways.
