The Boswell Sisters are one of the all-time great vocal groups. Much like The Four Freshmen and Ink Spots the Boswell Sisters should be classified as both pop and jazz. They dominated the American charts in the pre-war years and arguably have directly or indirectly influenced almost all girl groups since. The Boswell Sisters immediately had an influence on artists of the calibre of Ella Fitzgerald and Dinah Washington.
