Books
Book of The Dead, a complete and in depth history of Zombie Cinema. Very interesting and lots of brilliant original cinema posters, if you like that sort of thing.
Lunar Park by Bret Easton Ellis. A fiction book wrote like non-fiction about Bret Easton Ellis and his life over lapping with the notorious Patrick Bateman. Very addictive and thoroughly enjoyable read.
Also manage to find time to peruse www.thelipster.com on a daily basis.
Music
Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds -Dig Lazarus Dig; the master is on fine form!!
Teenage Jesus and The Jerks- Shut Up and Bleed! ; Out on Cherry Red next month a brilliant collection of everything the No-Wave legends recorded. Some say it’s un-listenable; I say it’s un-missable. Genius.
Billy Childish and Musicians of British Empire-Thatchers Children ; brilliant stuff!
Sons and Daughters – This Gift ; great album!
Gigs
Gogol Bordello @ Brixton Academy- Again! They rule live.
Lydia Lunch @ Corsica Studios- Amazing gig, with music by James Johnston and Ian White of Gallon Drunk fame
Dead Kennedys @ Electric Ballroom- Good sing along gig!
Rezurex @ The Underworld- They were rubbish but support act The Scourge of River City were amazing!
Films
Been pretty much obsessed by the Sopranos on DVD, such an amazing show. Now on Season 6, want to know what happens but don’t want it to end rather like a good book! This is viewing of the highest calibre, better than most movies. Reason for lack of books read or movies viewed.
Although did also find time to also watch -Halloween (Rob Zombie Version)- Absolutely brilliant, NOT a remake more of a prequel. Rob Zombie may just save modern horror from the teen tits and lame gore fest that it has become.
Feed- Absolutely terrible. Nice idea badly executed. Lots of crazy camera angles doesn’t make up for bad acting and lack of decent dialogue.
Sport
Celtic beat Dundee United….didn’t watch the match but was pleased with the result!
