A Humpty Dumpty Thing
cdbred332

After performing the first two Carter USM shows in ten years at Glasgow Barrowlands and Brixton Academy (both which are completely sold out) and promoting EMI's new Anthology of Carter's best tracks 'You Fat Bastard' (15/10/07) Jim Bob returns with his sixth solo album "A Humpty Dumpty Thing". Recorded in London, Hampshire and Cornwall with a full band including a 12 voice teenage choir, the new album began life when Jim was asked to write a song for Mark Ravenhill's hit pantomime 'Dick Whittington & His Cat' last year. Jim wrote six songs. Two ended up in the Barbican's Christmas show. The others were adapted to form the beginnings of this new Jim Bob LP. Initial limited copies of the album will come with the twelve thousand word Jim Bob mini novel 'Word Count'.

Set in the not too distant future when all art is commissioned by the State, the story follows a man with writer's block chosen to write an 80 thousand word novel or face a jail term. Jim Bob had 14 top 40 singles and 4 top 10 albums (including a number one), sold over a million records and played 800 gigs all over the world as lead singer with Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine. Since Carter Jim has released five solo albums and continues to perform live as a successful solo artist.

School
cdbred302

‘School’ is the new album from former Carter USM frontman Jim Bob. He says the album tells the story of a school and its struggle to move up from the foot of the education league tables. The album tells a tale of foul-mouthed food technology teachers (‘Mrs Fucking MacMurphy’), bitter geography teachers (‘Storm In The Staff Room’) and the ‘Mufty Day Riots’.

Following the success of his critically acclaimed book, "Goodnight Jim Bob", and his brilliant debut DVD - "Live From London", this is a somewhat special release, recorded with the 12-piece Jim Bob School Orchestra - who performed the record in its entirety last Christmas to a packed Islington Academy.

Jim Bob tours solo and acoustic in March 2006, with special guest Chris T-T, who will also join Jim onstage to accompany him for a few songs on the school piano.

Now write it down 1000 times - ‘I must go out and buy Jim Bob’s fantastic brand new album "School" and pay attention next time!
