Pygmalion
Pygmalion is the final album by the band Slowdive, released on February 6, 1995. A departure from their previous two albums, Pygmalion incorporated a more experimental sound tilted towards ambient electronic music, with sparse, atmospheric arrangements. All compositions were by Neil Halstead. Lyrics on tracks Miranda and Visions of La by Rachel Goswell. The cover illustration is by acclaimed designer Steven Woodhouse. It was the final album before Slowdive disbanded in 1995, an event widely associated with the demise of shoegazing. This re-issue long out of print now has an enhanced booklet with new sleeve notes by Mojo’s Kieron Tyler. Re-mastered from original tapes, it features a whole disc of rare demos never before released on CD.

Press:-

"Inspired by drug-fuelled trips to Brixton clubnight Quirky, ‘Pygmalion’ was mainly conceived by guitarist and songwriter Neil Halstead in his west London flat – instruments are looped into infinity, while Halstead and Rachel Goswell’s vocals float in and out of the ether.”

-Nat Cramp (NME – February 11th, 2012)

Smart
Sleeper were massive! hit singles, sell out tours, and at one point you could not open a magazine or a newspaper without seeing a picture of the band oh and they made some great records too! Britpop delights part of the memory and scares other parts of the brain, Sleeper are from the right side of the tracks, yeah they looked good (even The Sleeper blokes) but more importantly they sounded great, no style over substance here. Smart was their debut album and hit all the right notes, packed with singles and presented here with a hatful of B-sides and live tracks the time is right to dip your toe back in the Britpop waters. Missing ] on field starting at 850

Inspired by the likes of My Bloody Valentine and Ride, Chapterhouse were part of the short-lived 'shoe-gazing' scene of the early 90's, but unlike other acts who acquired a set of guitar pedals and headed off to the nearest recording studio, they mixed beats with their wall-of-sonic-guitar-fuzz to create records to stimulate both mind and feet! Newly expanded reissue of their classic debut 'Whirpool', now with all the b-sides from the singles 'Pearl', 'Falling Down' and the 'Sunburst EP'. Produced by the band along side Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins), John Fryer (This Mortal Coil), Stephen Hague (New Order) and Ralph Jezzard, and featuring guest vocals from Rachel Goswell (Slowdive), with liner notes from music journalist and long-time associate Andrew Perry, along with the lyrics in full [documented here for the first time), photos, memorabilia and other clippings from the bands personal archive, and images of all of the releases featured on the album. Long deleted, original CDs of the album sell for £25+ on internet auction websites.

Pop Said
The Darling Buds were part of a strange indie phenomena in the late 1980’s – guitar bands with blonde female lead singers (along with The Primitives & Transvision Vamp).
Originally from South Wales, the band released one self-financed single and were picked up by indie label Native. After two further singles they were signed by Sony imprint Epic and in the January 1989 released their debut long-player "Pop Said” which reached No 23 in the National album charts.
The album contains the four hit singles ‘Let’s Go Round There’, ‘Burst’, ‘Hit The Ground’ and ‘You’ve Got To Choose’.
Now reissued and fully expanded by nine tracks to include all of the B-sides from the singles. The accompanying booklet includes thoughts from the band today looking back at the release, alongside sleeve images and effects from their personal archive.
