Hey Stoopid: Expanded Edition - Alice Cooper

Hey Stoopid: Expanded Edition
· A worldwide chart smash, Alice Cooper’s 19th studio record, "Hey Stoopid” built on the huge success of the previous heavy hitter, 1989’s "Trash”.

· Joining Alice on vocals & harmonica; drummer Mickey Curry, guitarist Stef Burns and bassist Hugh McDonald are a cavalcade of special guests, including highly influential guitar wizards Joe Satriani, Vinnie Moore and Steve Vai, Guns N’ Roses’ Slash, Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx & Mick Mars (who co-write one track, ‘Die For You’), plus the legendary Ozzy Osbourne providing backing vocals on the album’s title track. Elvira, Mistress of the Dark provides the spoken word part on ‘Feed My Frankenstein’.

· "Hey Stoopid” was produced by Peter Collins, famed for his work with Rush, Queensyrche and Air Supply, among many others.

· Bonus tracks are the Beba Edit of ‘Hey Stoopid’, plus non-album tracks ‘It Rained All Night’ and a cover of Jimi Hendrix’s classic, ‘Fire’.

· The album featured three hit singles; the title track, the self-explanatory ‘Love’s A Loaded Gun’ and ‘Feed My Frankenstein’. The latter was performed in the 1992 comedy movie "Wayne’s World”, in which Alice also starred.

Spinning Wheel
Formed in 1967 by ex-'Blues Project' member, Al Kooper, 'Blood Sweat and Tears' quickly became regarded as one of the most promising of all the late 60's rock bands. The pioneering fusion of jazz and rock captured the imagination of the critics and their first album 'Child is Father to the Man' became a sleeper hit. Organist, singer, Kooper had insisted on the status of band-leader but the other band members wanted a committed lead singer and by the end of the decade Kooper had been replaced by David Clayton-Thomas. The band released three more albums 'Blood Sweat and Tears 1,2 and 3', and, despite massive sales and chart success, they eventually alienated some early fans and music critics who thought they were selling out (they played on a State Department sponsored tour, appeared at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas and supplied the soundtrack to the movie comedy 'The Owl and the Pussycat').

By this time 'BS&T' had sold over 6 million albums but the ensuing turmoil led to the band splitting in 1978. However in 1980 David Clayton-Thomas reformed the group, went back on the road and recorded a final studio album 'Nuclear Blues'. This DVD features archive footage of that reformed Blood Sweat and Tears line-up live at the Civic Theatre in Halifax, UK on April 9th 1980. The line up is David Clayton-Thomas, Richard Martinez, David Piltch, Keith Seymour, Robert Economou, Stanley Cassidy and Vernon Dorge. Playing in front of a sellout audience the band perform many classics from their heyday demonstrating why, even today, they are celebrated as, not only the first, but the greatest jazz/rock fusion band of all time.

The Last Temptation: 20th Anniversary Edition
•    The main character in this "concept" album is a boy called Steven. Steven is afraid. Afraid of ghost stories, afraid of growing up... just afraid. That is, until he meets the mysterious Showman and his Theatre of the Real. Steven takes a ticket and watches the show on a dare, but getting out of the performance will be harder than he ever imagined. And then Steven learns what it is to be truly afraid...

•    After the more poppy, mainstream "Hey Stoopid" in 1991, which followed the worldwide smash "Trash" in 1989, the conceptual nature of "The Last Temptation" was a major departure from the two more commercially orientated predecessors, whilst resurrecting some of the darker, macabre themes from ealier in Alice's career.

•    Alice Cooper's 20th studio album, "The Last Temptation" was originally
issued on the Epic label in July 1994.

•    Alice is joined on this record by Stef Burns on guitar, Greg Smith on bass, Derek Sherinian on keyboards and David Uosikkinen on drums, whilst Soundgarden's Chris Cornell guests on the songs 'Stolen Prayer' and 'Unholy War'.

•    The album's concept was also issued as a series of comics by famed
graphic novelist Neil Gaiman, and features cover artwork by Dave McKean, illustrated by Michael Zulli, which is also getting a 20th
anniversary make-over.

•    For the fans that want more of the commercially orientated rock and metal that had given Alice huge hits, the album features the singles 'Lost In America' and 'It's Me'. The package will be issued in a  deluxe digipak, with 16 page booklet featuring an extensive essay and rare
memorabilia.
