The Grand Moghul Suite / The Universal Language Of Music
The most exotic and enigmatic of all of the artists of what is broadly described a the "exotica" genre, Korla Pandit's astounding early concept albums are here together restored to the catalogue for the first time in five decades. A kind of Indian Ziggy Stardust, Korla Pandit's work is taken extremely seriously and is extremely collectable amongst followers of Martin Denny, Les Baxter and Esquivel. Pandit's Wurlitzer has a strange David Lynch quality to it and has aged very well. Our Price: £9.95

Space Escapade
Released 20/04/09. The Founding-Father of Exotica, Les Baxter's wild inventiveness has made him a hero to modern artists as diverse as Jello Biafra and Beck. Exotica became a hugely popular trend from the early fifties; with the onset of international jet travel, making it possible for middle-class Americans to simulate an authentic travelogue experience in the comfort of their suburban homes, 'The Music of Les Baxter is never sad of gloomy - it is full of the adventure of life, the sounds of exotic lands and the free spirit of life close to nature'. Space Escapade (not re-issued or digitalised in the half century since it's original release) is the holy grail to Baxterites and students of the Exotica genre; showcasing all of the eclecticism and sensual orchestral effects that are Baxter's remarkable trademark. The historic restoration of Space Escapade is complimented by an attractive special feature; a programme of extremely rare Les Baxter single A & B sides from the fifties; sweet and subtle gems never before re-issued in any context and digitalised here for the first time. Sebastian Cabot, Actor… Bob Dylan, Poet
Beloved London-born character actor Sebastian Cabot made a career out of playing the terribly proper British gentleman. With a well-groomed tidybeard, a distinct upper crust accent, and a weight of more than 250 pounds, he projected an image of kindness and refinement and managed to appear both cuddly and stuffy at the same time. The star of The Time Machine, Johnny Tremain, Ivanhoe, and Kismet. he is best perhaps remembered by all those from 5 to 50 as the omniscient 'Narrator' in Walt Disney's series of 'Winnie The Pooh' movies, and as Bagheera in The Jungle Book. The title says it all realy: Sebastian Cabot tackles the Bob Dylan songbook on this startling relic from the anything-goes psychedelic era; with his half-spoken, half-sung baritone vocals and erudite British manner, Cabot certainly puts an utterly unique spin on favorites like "It Ain't Me, Babe," "All I Really Want to Do" and "Like a Rolling Stone", an excellent look at the high vs low culture debates of the 1960s that wanted to in effect "promote" Dylan and others from vulgar "songwriters" to "poets". The fact that enroute, Cabot outdoes both William Shatner AND Leonard Nimoy in the 'Golden Throats' stakes is surely a bonus! A total classic, to be sure! Our Price: £9.95

Freaky Trigger
After the demise of Edinburgh cult band Fire Engines in 1982, founder and lead singer/ guitarist Davey Henderson placed his finger firmly on the freaky trigger of eighties pop gun WIN. Managed by the Postcard label sheriff Alan Horne. One of the great lost bands of the eighties, WIN were so much the sum of the decade s parts, it was obvious their time would not come until the decade was dead and buried. With continued interest in Fire Engines , much interest in Henderson s recent bands, the Nectarine No. 9 and the Sexual Objects , WIN look set for a timely re-evaluation.Following a trash course of Prince, Marilyn Monroe and Pope John Paul the First, WIN s second album, Freaky Trigger, was produced by Zeus B. Held - a name at the helm of many a classic eighties production (Fashion - Fabrique / Dead Or Alive - Sophisticated Boom Boom / Transvision Vamp – Pop Art/Velveteen). This first ever re-issue includes the original Virgin Records 1989 release - featuring singles What ll You Do Til Sunday Baby, Dusty Heartfelt and Love Units with it’s remarkable Prince like 12 extended mix - complete with bonus flips from the same period. It has tunes with more hooks than Lady GaGa has looks as well as cheeky in tongue lyrics to boot, and a glistening 80’s Glam chic.

The album was originally released in 1992 on Circa Records.
This CD contains the two singles taken from the album, 'Baby' and 'Colours Will Come'.
The CD features the ten tracks of the original album release and four bonus tracks including mixes/remixes of 'Colours Will Come - US 60659 Mix' by Larry Heard, 'Feels Like The Richtergroove' by Mike Koglin, 'Look What You've Done - Marital Mix' and the beautiful 'Because You Love'.
The CD booklet features an expanded version of the original artwork and includes a detailed UK discography and sleeve notes.
The album has been digitally remastered for this release.
Speaking of the 'Outernational' album to Record Collector magazine in 1994 MacKenzie gave his impression of the album "I think it has a glacial beauty. It doesn't always have to be demonstrative. Fire can burn, but so can ice. And that would direct the attention to the lyrical content as well. Some of it had a lot of religious connotations, like "Colours Will Come". I think that it's an emotionally detached album in some ways, but it also has a strong message. Maybe it appeared like I wasn't trying or expressing, or that there was a block. But it wasn't. There was a calmness and a lot of beauty in that album.
Billy MacKenzie passed away aged 39 on January 22nd 1997 leaving a lasting musical legacy.
