Modern Times
Latin Quarter were a very influential band of the 1980's. Known for their unique brand of social conscience lyrics and a unique blend of folk, reggae and rock styles created 'their own' sound. This CD release of the band's first album, the much acclaimed "Modern Times" was originally released by Arista in 1985. The band enjoyed some chart success with the excellent "Radio Africa' which reached number 19 in the UK charts in 1986. The album also features 5 bonus tracks not featured on the original release. The CD features the 11 original tracks from the "Modern Times" album including the 6 singles "Radio Africa", "Modern Times", "Toulouse", "America For Beginners", "New Millionaires" and "No Rope As Long As Time" plus the bonus tracks, "Thin White Duke", "This Side Of Midnight", "Sandinista", "Voices Inside" and the extended mix of the single "Modern Times (12" mix)". The CD booklet includes all the original artwork and a complete discography of the band. Also featured are the lyrics of the original 11 album tracks.

Mystic Merlin
Mystic Merlin were originally known as Mystic Merlin’s Magic Band and used to incorporate magic tricks into their live shows, they later dropped this gimmick and were taken seriously on the Soul and Dance Scene. Main vocals in Mystic Merlin were occasionally provided by Freddie Jackson who went onto have a hugely successful solo career with ten R&B #1 singles as well as seven R&B top ten hits.
MYSTIC MERLIN was the band’s first album released in 1980 on Capitol Records. It was produced by Charles Kipp following his work with David Ruffin, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Melba Moore, Aretha Franklin and Johnny Nash.
Released in deluxe Super Jewel cases, with bonus tracks, MYSTIC MERLIN is a must for all Funk and Soul fans out there!

Love All The Hurt Away
After six years at Columbia, Aretha Franklin signed with Atlantic Records in 1967 and unleashed a stunning array of hit singles during the mid-sixties to the mid-seventies including ‘Respect’, ‘Chain Of Fools’, ‘Spanish Harlem’ and ‘Until You Come Back To Me (That’s What I’m Going To Do).’
LOVE ALL THE HURT AWAY was Aretha’s sophomore release for Arista Records in 1981. It spent 26 weeks in the R&B chart peaking at #4, it also made #36 in the Pop chart with sales of around a quarter of a million.
LOVE ALL THE HURT AWAY reached the #6 position and #46 in the Pop charts. This is a duet with George Benson
HOLD ON I’M COMIN’, a Sam & Dave cover, gained Aretha her 11th Grammy Award (for Best R&B Vocal Performance - her first Grammy since 1974). This was the second UK single and received a lot of play in discos.
IT’S MY TURN is a cover of Diana Ross which gained Aretha the #29 position in the R&B chart.
Released in deluxe Super Jewel cases, with three bonus tracks, LOVE ALL THE HURT AWAY is a must for all Soul and Funk fans out there!
