World Of Rubber
Released 16/03/09. Second Layer featured Adrian Borland and Graham Bailey, founding members of The Sound . They pioneered the use of drum machines and mixed machine based soundscape with more human elements created a sound ahead of its time. After releasing a couple of singles in 1979 and 1980 they released World of Rubber on Cherry Red in 1981. A beautiful, hard and emotional record. It contained many of the same elements as The Sound , not much of a surprise considering the line up, but the machine element gives it a very different sound. The Album has never been on CD and the vinyl is very hard to track down. Bonus Track Skylon previously unavailable Our Price: £9.95

If Wishes Were Horses
Released on 18/01/10. Blueboy's first album, originally released in 1992, will be reissued on El Records. In keeping with the Sarah tradition, the original album was an 8-track mini-album with no singles or previously / later released tracks, but it is re-released with addition of the band s first four singles and their B-sides as a 19-track album. All of this material has been unavailable, except for download, since around the time Sarah shut up shop in 1995. Blueboy were formed by lyricist and singer, Keith Girdler, and songwriter and guitarist, Paul Stewart in Reading in the early 1990s. Since meeting around a decade earlier, Paul and Keith had been in various bands together before Blueboy, and had sent previous demos to Sarah. However, it was the demo for Clearer, which was released in 1991 as their first single, which got them their deal. Whilst their initial releases were gentle and acoustic, they expanded into a full band, with bass, drums, keyboards and cello, and eventually including Harvey Williams on guitar. Their later albums will be reissued on EL Records, of which Keith and Paul were both huge fans, over the coming months. Our Price: £9.95

Give Me Take You
Released 13/04/09. 'My two biggest successes would have to be the Rolling Stones and the Small Faces; equally satisfying, but not as commercially successful, was Duncan Browne. Duncan was amazing…so talented. It may have said on the records ‘Produced by Andrew Loog Oldham', but all I did was book the studio and watch the lad do his magic. And magic it was.'

Thus spake former Stones manager Andrew Oldham, who signed the late Duncan Browne to his record label, Immediate, in 1967. Oldham duly oversaw the recording of Duncan's 1968 debut album Give Me Take You, which, as with several other Oldham projects of the time (notably the Billy Nicholls album Would You Believe), only received limited distribution due to Immediate's crippling financial problems.

Now widely acknowledged as a genuine UK baroque pop/psychedelic folk classic, Give Me Take You has long been a heavily sought-after album on the collectors' circuit, with original copies selling for several hundred pounds. It has also attracted significant critical acclaim, being described by one monthly music magazine as 'an English Astral Weeks', and regularly compared to such Spirit of the Age masterpieces as the Kinks are the village green preservation society, the Zombies' Odessey & Oracle and Nick Drake's Five Leaves Left.
