Cutting Crew : Broadcast
It has been Cutting Crew's fate to have enjoyed a hugely successful career that will always be remembered for one song, namely their enormous, multi-million selling international hit (I Just) Died In Your Arms.

Having graced every wedding reception in the civilised world, the track has notched up over three million radio plays in North America alone, and forms the centrepiece of this, the band's debut album.

Recorded in both the United States and the UK, the album is a superior example of ambitious, guitar driven mid 80s pop-rock, with extremely strong songwriting and the classic production and ideals of that era present throughout. The record also spawned another huge hit in the shape of I've Been In Love Before , a track which went Top Ten in America and itself boasts over three million radio plays worldwide. Unsurprisingly, the album was also a massive hit, even earning the band a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 1987, and still proves a strong listen twenty three years later.

The Scattering

Cutting Crew : The Scattering
The second album released by the group, The Scattering represents Cutting Crew's most collaborative effort. Under pressure from their American record company to produce hit singles of the scale of (I Just) Died In Your Arms Tonight and I've Been In Love Before , the band consolidated and produced what those in the know consider to be their most enjoyable album.

Sadly, a number of business and personal problems meant the record arrived a year later than planned, and the musical landscape had changed in that time, leaving this great package somewhat ignored at the time of its release and, to some degree, undiscovered until now.

Featuring a more direct sound than The Broadcast , and being far less reliant on grandiose production and more on the immediacy of its songs, The Scattering showcases a maturing band who have mastered a sound somewhere between chart friendly AOR and American tinged arena rock.

Year In The Wilderness/ The Scattering / Big Noise/ Everything But My Pride / Handcuffs For Houdini / (Between A) Rock And A Hard Place / Tip Of Your Tongue / Reach For The Sky / The Last Thing / Feel The Wedge / Binkies Return / Brag / Bonus Tracks- More Than A Dream (Demo) / Into The Night (Demo) / No Secrets (Demo)
