| Formed in Aberdeen, Washington, in the US North-West in 1988,
Nirvana were to become the leaders of the Seattle-based "grunge" movement
which swept over rock music in the early 90s. At the time of Bleach, line-up
was Kurt Cobain (vocals & guitar), Jason Everman (guitar), Chris Novoselic
(bass) and Chad Channing (drums), but they later contracted to a trio of
Cobain, Novoselic and drummer Dave Grohl. At the height of their success,
a troubled Cobain committed suicide in April 1994, and the band split. |
