Gloria Gaynor: Expanded Edition - Gloria Gaynor

Gloria Gaynor: Expanded Edition
•    RARE GLORIA GAYNOR ATLANTIC ALBUM DEBUTS ON CD IN ORIGINAL FORM!

•    Grammy Award winner and Hall of Famer, GLORIA GAYNOR was born on the 7th of September 1949 in Newark, N.J. and sang as a young girl in her school choir, mixed chorus and  her school’s girl glee club. While she knew she one day wanted to have a career in music, GLORIA GAYNOR still went to school with the aim of having something to fall back on and studied beauty and business courses.

•    Gaynor began to taste real success with the release of her cover version of Never Can Say Goodbye and later became iconic with the release of I Will Survive in 1978.

•    In 1982 GLORIA GAYNOR released her 10th studio album, GLORIA GAYNOR on Atlantic Records, now fully remastered and repackaged for the first time on CD by BBR! The album featured three singles which placed Gloria in a more R&B/Street Soul groove than she had previously recorded. ‘Tease Me’ was followed by an update of the Supremes classic ‘Stop In The Name Of Love’ which saw Gaynor backed by Kool & The Gang. The patriotic ‘America’ continued the new sound that would span across the album

•    BBR is so very proud to announce the release of GLORIA GAYNOR. Lovingly remastered, this CD comes complete with extensive liner notes including interviews and added bonus content making this BBR Remaster a must have item for all Disco, Soul, Funk and R&B fans out there!

Teach Me Tonight
Released 16th February 2009. When Blossom Dearie first emerged as a solo artist she was already unique in many ways. Straightaway there was that voice - kittenish, intimate, coquettish and understated where so many other jazz divas were straining to belt out every song. With the fascinating 1957-58 albums Give Him the Ooh-la-la and Once Upon a Summertime Blossom finds a unique, light, refined niche on the pop side of jazz. Ray Brown remains for the 1958 set with Herb Ellis and Jo Jones replaced by Mundell Lowe and Ed Thigpen. Our Price: £9.95

Love Conquers All- Expanded Edition
Released on 29/08/11. Before embarking on a solo career in the 1980s, Californian R&B singer Michael Wycoff was best known for singing backup on Stevie Wonder’s 1976 album Songs In The Key Of Life and working with artists including Natalie Cole. Love Conquers All was Wycoff’s second album, containing the hit R&B single Looking Up To You and the underground dance classic Diamond Real. Wycoff released three albums in the 1980s before falling on hard times and ultimately rebuilding his life through the church. Wycoff might have become just one more forgotten artist, but after Zhane sampled Looking UP To You on their 1994 Top Ten US Pop hit HEY MR. D.J. fans rediscovered Love Conquers All, which remains a highly sought-after underground classic to this day. BBR is very proud to present Love Conquers All in full and expanded form, complete with extensive liner notes that feature interviews along with added bonus tracks.

Book and CD for £23.99
With the release of Phil Harding Club Mixes Of The 80s Double Cd Of 25 Remastered Club Remixes And Rarities - Various Artists we're please to be able to offer you the very special offer both the brilliant book PWL- From The Factory Floor (Expanded Edition) and  the CD for the bargain price of £23.99!

In the 80s, working out of a basement studio in the Pete Waterman-owned PWL studio complex (with production partner Ian Curnow), Phil Harding club mixes and productions dominated the dancefloors and club charts on an international scale. On this long-awaited, double-CD package (with 24-bit digital re-mastering) are 25 sought-after classic 80s remixes and rarities...

Refreshingly and affectionately frank, ‘PWL - From The Factory Floor’ tells the inside story of one of the most successful and fast-paced music studios of all time. Phil’s pivotal role provides a uniquely broad perspective, extending from the top of the organisation, mixing many classic SAW hits, down to the bottom , training up-and-coming engineers, as well as involvement in the creative, business (and diplomatic!) aspects of being a critically-acclaimed producer in his own right and developing a profile and client base under the management of Pete Waterman. After a sold-out limited release in 2009, the book has undergone extensive development into this Expanded Edition, and contains a wealth of new material...

Get both for only £23.99 for a limited time only!

PRESS:-

"Orchestrated by one of the music industry’s most revered remixers and producers, Phil Harding, ‘Club Mixes of the ‘80s’ showcases his 30+ career spanning years at the musical wheel.”

(Annecarlini.com)

"Sound engineer Phil Harding, a former member of the PWL team, takes us inside of the PWL studios, where no-name artists like Rick Astley and Klie Minogue were advocated to levels of recognition incomprehensible to the artist struggling to pay their dues in hopes of reaching similar fame and success.”

Only Human
When Jeffrey Osborne arrived at Arista Records in 1990, he had spent seventeen years at A&M Records first with the group L.T.D. and then as a solo artist with eighteen charted singles including classics such as ‘I Really Don’t Need No Light,’ ‘On The Wings Of Love,’ ‘Stay With Me Tonight’ and ‘You Should Be Mine (The Woo Woo Song).’
After recording "Love Power,” a hit duet with then-Arista recording artist Dionne Warwick, Jeffrey (who had written the song ‘All At Once’ for Whitney Houston’s first Arista album) signed with the label, working directly with company founder Clive Davis on ONLY HUMAN.
Most of the tracks on ONLY HUMAN were produced by Barry Eastmond who had chart success with Freddie Jackson, Billy Ocean and Anita Baker among others. Six of the eleven tracks were co-written by Jeffrey and Barry including the title track (a Top 5 R&B hit) and ‘The Morning After I Made Love To You,’ a Top 30 R&B single.
Dance music mix master Shep Pettibone produced the now-classic groove track ‘If My Brother’s In Trouble,’ a Top 20 R&B hit in the US and club favourite in the UK. Other standouts on ONLY HUMAN include Jeffrey’s cover of the Roberta Flack standard, ‘Feel Like Making Love’ which he co-produced with the late Robert Brookins.
This expanded edition of ONLY HUMAN features five bonus cuts including the non-album ‘B’ side, ‘Never.’
Notes by renowned US writer Rico Washington include quotes from producer Barry Eastmond.
