Love In ‘C’ Minor - Cerrone

Love In ‘C’ Minor
As a producer of Disco music, the influence of JEAN-MARC CERRONE is second perhaps only to that of GIORGIO MORODER. Beginning as a drummer in the late 1960s, CERRONE would go on to sell over 30 million albums in a decades-spanning, internationally-successful career.

LOVE IN ‘C’ MINOR’s title track, composed in collaboration with Eurodisco legend ALEC R. CONSTANDINOS, was a nearly-17 minute long opus which expanded the boundaries of Disco music. LOVE IN ‘C’ MINOR reached the Top 30 of the US Soul singles chart and was internationally successful as a Pop record, reaching both the US and UK Top 40. The album also charted on both the US Pop and R&B charts and LOVE IN ‘C’ MINOR and MIDNITE LADY made #2 on the Billboard Disco chart. LOVE IN ‘C’ MINOR broke new ground in dance music and its echoes would be heard in the production sounds of many European and American Disco records over the next five years.

BBR is very proud to present LOVE IN ‘C’ MINOR in full and expanded form, complete with extensive liner notes that feature interviews. Released in deluxe Super Jewel cases this BBR remaster is a must have for all Disco, Dance and Pop fans out there!

New Dimensions
Field gte not in Database

The Three Degrees were hugely successful internationally throughout the seventies, particularly in the UK where they enjoyed ten top forty hits including Year Of Decision, Take Good Care Of Yourself and the anthemic ballad When Will I See You Again, all on Philadelphia International Records. New Dimensions was the trio's first album for Ariola Records where they were teamed with hotter than hot producer Giorgio Moroder, who was riding high on his work with Donna Summer.

The top forty album spent thirteen weeks on the UK album chart in 1979 and spun off three hugely successful megahits in the shape of the discofied Giving Up, Giving In and The Runner as well as the top three ballad Woman In Love.

Unfinished Business
Cherry Red is proud to release the sixth solo album by Status Quo keyboard player and multi‐ instrumentalist Andy Bown. "Unfinished Business” features ten new tracks and is Andy's first solo album in over 30 years. "Unfinished Business” is produced by Mike Paxman and features contributions from the likes of Henri Spinetti (Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Katie Melua), Mick Rogers (Manfred Mann’s Earth Band) and Trevor Bolder (David Bowie, Uriah Heep).

Andy continued an intermittent solo recording career, whilst starting to work with Status Quo in 1976, first as a session musician, and then as a full time member, recording "Rockin' All Over The World” with the band in 1978. He plays keyboards, guitar and harmonica with Status Quo to this day and is an integral part of the band, having co‐penned many well‐known Quo songs, most prominently the group's hits "Whatever You Want”, "Again and Again” and the 1988 hit "Burning Bridges” which, re‐recorded, went on to reach No.1 in the charts as Manchester United Football Club’s anthem.

Andy has a rich musical heritage, starting from his sixties bands The Preachers and The Herd, where he gave the talented teenager Peter Frampton his first job, on through an endless list of recording sessions with artists such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Halliday, Dusty Springfield, Cilla Black, Tim Hardin, Pink Floyd, Roger Waters, Lesley Duncan, Paul McCartney, Carly Simon and many, many more, whilst part‐forming the ultimate 70’s pop‐rock band, Judas Jump (opening The Isle of Wight Festival 1970) and also appearing with the cult folk band Storyteller. He played keyboards for Peter Frampton in the early 1970s, switching to bass for several tours after Rick Wills departed the band. Andy was the surrogate Roger Waters during Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’ tour of 1980 and 81 and he also played Pink Floyd's "The Final Cut” album and Roger Waters’ subsequent release Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking”. Andy’s first solo album "Gone To My Head” was released in 1972.

Press:-

"Every song here features top-class musicianship and a tune you can hum.”

-William Pinfold (Record Collector – October 2011)

The influence of JEAN-MARC CERRONE is second perhaps only to that of GIORGIO MORODER. Beginning as a drummer in the late 1960s, CERRONE would go on to sell over 30 million albums in a decades-spanning, internationally-successful career. After the international success of the genre-redefining LOVE IN C MINOR, CERRONE returned in 1977 with his second album, CERRONE'S PARADISE.
