The Pointer Sisters were one of the most successful female groups the music industry has seen with 18 Top 20 hit singles and 10 top 40 albums shared between the US Pop and R&B charts. In 1982 the Grammy award-winning sisters released the Richard Perry produced, SO EXCITED!, on Planet Records. The Sisters were backed by members of the band Toto on the album.

SO EXCITED! features such classics as the top 20 hit, American Music and the hugely popular title track, SO EXCITED!, written by Anita, June and Ruth Pointer with the album’s Associate  Producer Trevor Lawrence. SO EXCITED! reached the Billboard Top 30 but later went on to become the group’s most recognizable Top Ten hit when a remix featured on the triple platinum selling follow up album Break Out.

Also included are the Dance hit If You Wanna Get Back Your Lady and the group‘s popular rendition of Prince‘s I Feel For You which would became a huge hit for Chaka Khan two years later.

SO EXCITED! reached #24 on the Billboard R&B album chart and became a huge catalogue seller for the group in the mideighties. BBR introduces the original full version of SO EXCITED! for the first time on CD. This edition features extensive liner notes with interviews from Anita ands Ruth Pointer and Remixed bonus tracks.

Baby Sister- Expanded Edition
Released on 13/09/10. The late June Pointer was the youngest member of the Pointer Sisters and sung lead on the group's first single, Don't Try To Take The Fifth, as well as their international smash hits Jump (For My Love), I Need You, He's So Shy, Goldmine, Happiness, Should I Do It and Dare Me.

The Pointer Sisters charted numerous classics throughout the seventies and eighties. June Co-wrote their signature song I'm So Excited with her sisters Anita and Ruth.

BABY SISTER was her first solo album, produced by Richard Perry and was released on his Planet label in 1983 a few months before the Pointer Sisters multi-platinum album Break Out. It is widely known as the album where Perry perfected the R&B/Dance sound that would soon give the Pointer Sisters the biggest hits of their career Automatic and Jump.

The album became an R&B chart hit and spun off the hit single, Ready For Some Action (Co-Produced by Norman Whitfield - R&B#28) as well as two popular Motown covers, Don't Mess With Bill and I'm Ready For Love and New Love, True Love, co-written with Anita Pointer. The Pointer Sisters sang back up on four of the album's tracks.

Features a bonus track and interviews with Anita and Ruth Pointer as well as many of the musicians who played on the album. Since June's untimely death in 2006, the Pointer Sisters huge international fan base have been campaigning to get Baby Sister on CD. It is by far one of BBR's most requested albums.

New Directions-Expanded Edition

Tavares charted many Soul and Disco classics on the Capitol label in the seventies with hits such as Check It Out, She's Gone, It Only Takes A Minute, Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel, Don't Take Away the Music, Who dunnit and More Than A Woman. New Directions was their confident 1982 debut on RCA Records.

The album became their longest running album on the US R&B chart at an impressive 30 weeks.  Singles include the timeless ballad A Penny For Your Thoughts which returned them to the US Pop Top 40 for the first time since 1978 as well as becoming an international hit.

The further R&B hit and club classic Got To Find My Way Back To You is also featured here in its original and 12" Remix form. Features four bonus tracks and interviews with the Tavares family

Heatwave's final album released on the Epic label in 1982 finally makes it to CD in a fully expanded version.

The classic album went all the way to #21 on the US R&B charts and became the groups last big hit before they finally disbanded in the mid 80's.

Current featured five songs written by former band member, Rod Temperton, who penned them alongside his compositions for Michael Jackson's Thriller album.

Features the single Look After Love, which featured guest vocals from Imagination's Lee John and Ashley Ingram. Other singles included Mind What You Find as well as the hugely popular, Rod Temperton penned club classic Lettin' It Loose. Candles
During their most commercially successful years, Heatwave were a band that crossed many borders, laying claim to such international hits as Boogie Nights, Too Hot To Handle, The Groove Line, Eyballin', and Always And Forever, all having a huge impact on both sides of the Atlantic. Heatwave’s fourth album, Candles, saw Johnnie Wilder Jr take on the producers role alongside James Guthrie, best known for his work with Pink Floyd, returning to work with Heatwave since serving as an engineer on both Too Hot To Handle and Central Heating.

Fresh off his success of contributions to Michael Jackson’s Off The Wall album, Rod Temperton remained the bands chief songwriter penning a total of five tracks including hit single, Gangsters Of The Groove which provided Heatwave with further R&B chart success reaching #21 and gaining a top 20 UK pop spot accompanied by an early foray into music video. Further hits include the touching, R&B, Doo Wop flavoured single, Where Did I Got Wrong and the Rod Temperton penned UK Top 40 single Jitterbuggin, both of which helped drive this album into the UK Pop and US R&B Top 30

The Pointer Sisters were one of the most successful female groups the music industry has seen with 13 top 20 singles and 8 top 40 albums shared between the US and UK pop charts. In 1980 the Pointer Sisters released Special Things, their third album under the production genius of Richard Perry, launching The Pointer Sisters into the 80s and their most commercially successful period. Special Things featured the gold selling single HE'S SO SHY which returned the group to R&B Top Ten as well as soaring all the way to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, earning them a Grammy nomination in the process. Also included are the popular Could I Be Dreaming which peaked at #22 on the R&B chart as well as becoming a Club hit alongside the Disco classic We’ve Got The Power.

The album made #19 Soul and #34 Pop in 1980 and features contributions from Burt Bacharach on keyboards alongside Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee and Motown session musician, James Jamerson on bass whose discography reads as a who‘s who of 60s and 70s soul. BBR introduces this newly re-mastered edition of Special Things accompanied by a non-album B-Side and extensive liner notes featuring exclusive interviews with Ruth and Anita Pointer.
